Day Four

Location: Michigan Dunes
Scene: The Showdown
Picture:
The Outlaw

The dunes in Michigan were completely unlike what I expected. Instead of cold sand, blown gently by lake-effect-cool winds, the dunes were unbelievably hot, with humid and still air encasing them. Congratulations goes to the actors and crew member (Jonathan) who worked long and hard to produce the finest showdown any of us will see next year.

Day Three

On day three, the Lastwood squad gathered once again in Jake's basement, all set and ready to go. And then there was a tornado warning.

On the bright side, we were already in a basement. That was the only plus, though. Focus on filming was quickly replaced by focus on survival as we huddled together, rewatching the footage from day one. At around 11, the tornado warning ended, and our work began.

Day three was about reshooting most of what we did on day one. Basically, when you set down the footage from day two versus the footage from day one, there's a definite difference in quality. So we reshot day one's scene, keeping only bits and pieces that worked well.

I've finished the rough edit of the new and improved scene, and here's one more picture.

The interrogation begins.
