Day Two

Day Two and day three were back to back, during band camp week--extra credit to those actors who showed up even though they'd been working hard all day. I'm a little behind on editing, and posting, so day three's post probably won't be up until I get back from New York.

Day Two went much more smoothly than day one. We did have to pick up some stand-in extras last minute, though--kudos to Gabe Williams for, um, being there. Last minute frenzies aside, all went well, and the preliminary edit is done. So, I guess I should show you some pictures; that's what you're here for anyway. Only two though, because I'm tired, and because there are some things I don't want people to see until this film's good and ready and done.

This shot speaks for itself.

Day One

Wow. I can hardly believe that we actually started shooting Lastwood today. Our next film's now officially underway--I have to admit, until now, I wasn't sure it ever would be.

And how'd it go? Well, the first day of filming was... hectic? long? a bit tiring? a bit unfocused? Probably all of those things, but mainly, the first day of filming reminded me of how We (the Council) make movies--one crazy camera angle at a time. In between Jake's watermelon chucking, us nearly burning the house down (no, we were not smoking, thank you very much Kathy), and one shot requiring eight takes before I was satisfied (it's not my fault Jake doesn't blow...), it felt a tiny bit like being back on the set of Sporkian. Actually, it felt a lot like that. But I think we'll improve, as time goes on.

Enough talk. The first scene to be completed (The Mayor's Office Redux) has finished it's preliminary editing, and I have pictures. Pictures!

That's my girl. Always... you know... burning things.

The heroes emerge from the smoke. Hardcore.
